Student Assistance Programs
The SAP can help you with your problems, including:
Family Problems
When parent and child relationships become strained, communication and mutual respect rapidly deteriorate. When there seem to be more problems than resolutions, it is time to use the SAP.
Relationship Problems
Difficulty between boyfriends and girlfriends or the end of a relationship may create anxiety, emotional pain, and a loss of academic performance. Counseling can often help resolve the problems and east the sense of pain.
Alcohol/Drug Abuse
Alcohol and drug abuse are often hidden until a crisis occurs. The realization that an alcohol and/or drug problems exists is the first step toward seeking assistance. SAP personnel are aware of these problems and can help initiate action toward treatment.
Stress Management Difficulties
Decisions, demands, pressure, and sudden changes may cause stress and emotional turmoil. The ability to cope is fundamental to overall health and well being. To east the difficulties, simply call the SAP for help.
Adjustment Problems
Being away from home for the first time and dealing with the responsibilities of living on your won can be stressful. Call your SAP for assistance.
The services of the SAP are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL. All information about contact(s) with the SAP will be held in strict confidence. No information will be shared with anyone without your written consent.
Call anytime on weekdays or weekends to talk with a counselor. If you wish to schedule an appointment, please call the office Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. All students at Springfield College are eligible to utilize this service.
